⊰ Text Replacement - iPhone Hack ⊱

Settings -> General -> Keyboard -> Text Replacement

Of course, the easiest way is to use the search option - just swipe down on the screen and type: Text Re
That’s enough, it will autocomplete the rest for you.

Deep within the iPhone settings hides what, for me, is the most useful feature: Text Replacement.

We all have those things we type over and over again - your phone number, home address, email, bank details, etc.
It’s important that the shortcut text, that will summon the longer one, will be something that isn’t a real word, but still makes sense and is easy for you to remember.

It doesn’t have to be your personal info - it could be specific instructions, a packing list, a word you always misspell, and more.
I have a long, polite message I send to people who call me, saying I’m unavailable and asking them to message me what they need.
Of course, I took it pretty far and now have dozens of these for all kinds of situations.

It makes sense that there would be an equivalent feature on non-iPhone devices too,
but I’m not familiar enough to explain it properly.
If anyone knows and wants to help, feel free to send me an explanation of where to find it on other devices, and I’ll add it!
