⊰ K-Pop Demon Hunters Bird ⊱
Step one: Watched the movie ״K-Pop Demon Hunters” with my daughter, decided that as far as I’m concerned the bird is a main character.
Step two: Coming to terms with the fact that I’m going to make it,
with… lights in the eyes!
My brain: This is super easy, two days and you’re done.
Naturally, I started with the hat.
Two weeks later: What have I gotten myself into…
The problem:
The head with the cylinder, lighting, and battery is heavy and tilts everything forward. I thought it would need to lean on the tail, and inside it there’s a long spoon.
The solution:
Add weight to the area connecting the body to the tail that nicely balances the head. Inside the legs there are metal wires.
I’m very proud that it stands so well on its own.
Painting:
It’s not visible in the picture (and maybe not at all), but the white was mixed with pearl powder pigment, and the black of the body with graphite pigment.
BTW apparently the bird is Magpie named Sussie.
