Age: Army. After basic training, on my way to the unit where I served in an "administrative role" after a knee injury.
Place: Bus, line 404.

Back in the days before mobile phones, I would sometimes listen to soldiers' conversations to keep myself from falling asleep (I usually tell this story along with Flambé).

Soldier A was telling his friend about a girl he had met, describing her: blonde, tall, thin, and so on.
Soldier B cut him off and said:"Never mind her looks, what’s her personality like?"

Me, sitting on the nearby bench, melted. The last righteous man in Sodom, right here beside me. What an honor.

Soldier A, confused: "The what?!"
Soldier B: "You know, her personality - does she put out or not?"

And just like that, I crashed back down to reality from the cloud I had been floating on a second earlier.
