⊰ “The Last of Us” and us ⊱

After she got all the achievements and triumphs in the game, I took screenshots, put them together, printed, laminated, and proudly hung on the fridge.

I’ve already added four pages (this is the fifth) to the site related to The Last of Us game, and I felt this post was needed to tie them together.

My older daughter and my spouse played the game together on PlayStation, and it had a big impact on them. I won’t share more than that, because it’s theirs. As usual, I like bringing things out of the screen into the real world, so I made her:
Ellie’s backpack
Ellie’s shirt
Ellie’s hoodie
and… a brick.

I also played the game, with my daughter by my side. I’m less into games where you’re just a regular human, I barely play a human in everyday life. I prefer games with magic and superpowers. My playstyle doesn’t really fit either, I suffer through stealth and would much rather charge forward and deal with threats physically.

She stayed with me while I played, warning me how many creatures would be in the room I was about to enter, and generally being my emotional-support-kid during the game.
That said, there were also lines like “I didn’t know you could die at this stage…” and “You can’t kill him with a punch.
Well, I can. and we even have the video to show it.

My younger daughter as Ellie, as part of a costume for “Character-Day” at school before Purim.

I thought I’d included everything I made related to the game that we have at home, and then I remembered this stop sign with Firefly graffiti hanging by our entrance.
